Richard Robson has been a respected professional winemaker in Australia, France, and New Zealand for more than 25 years. However, his drink of choice at the end of a long day in the cellar has always been an ice-cold gin and tonic.
It was probably only a matter of time, then, before his professional curiosity led him to explore distilling and how to craft his own perfect gin.
After two years of study, research and experimentation, including a qualification from the UK’s renowned Chartered Institute of Brewers & Distillers, Richard has established and launched Omaha Distillers and its flagship label, Omaha London Dry Gin.

The premise behind Omaha Gin is simple - a classic, premium spirit for those who know and love their gin, distilled in Matakana in small batches, using local citrus and the finest botanicals.
No gimmicks; no garish colours or funky flavours - just classic, premium gin.
Omaha takes its name from the stunning white sand beach and bay that looks out to Te Hauturu-o-Toi Little Barrier and Aotea Great Barrier Islands, where Richard and his wife Sally live.
Omaha was the original Maori name for the wider area and means ‘bountiful food’ or ‘great resources’.
